Ideas to Impact (i2I) 2.0 is a pan-India competition, spearheaded by IIT Madras and supported by Wipro Foundation. The contest is designed to transform innovative ecological concepts into viable prototypes that actively contribute to a sustainable future. Its mission is to equip students, who have a keen interest in resource restoration, with the necessary resources, mentorship and guidance. This support will empower them in their journey, from the initial ideation phase to the proof-of-concept stage. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be well-prepared to participate in initiatives like the Carbon Zero Challenge (CZC) and kickstart their entrepreneurial journey.

Undergraduate students, postgraduate students, PhD and Research Scholars

Air, Water, Soil, Materials, and Energy.

i2I offers 

• Fund upto INR 50000 for developing lab-prototype

• Access to mentorship

• Training on prototype development

• Visibility and Networking opportunities 

• Direct entry into the next cohort of Carbon Zero Challenge and opportunity to get prototype development fund upto INR 5 Lakhs and win seed grant upto INR 10 Lakhs

Application Submission Deadline- 30th September 2024

Timeline:

End of Sept 2024.         : Application Submission

Nov - Dec 2024.            : Interview and Selection of Top 25 teams 

End of Dec 2024           : Announcement of Top 25 

Dec '24 - Jun '25           : Lab-scale prototype development

End of July 2025           : Announcement of Top 5 teams

A total of 25 ideas with great potential will be selected after a rigorous review and interview process. Each of the 25 teams will be offered intensive training on entrepreneurship to help create practical and effective sustainability solutions. The top 25 teams will be provided with funds of INR 50000 for prototype development and will be monitored for a period of 6 months. At the end of 6 months,teams will be given an opportunity to showcase their prototype at IIT Madras and will be evaluated by subject matter experts. The top 5 teams will win a grand prize of upto INR 100000.
